Vien Vu is a sports physical therapist for Stanford University Athletics, where he primarily works with swim/dive, track and field (sprints and throws), cross country, field hockey, women’s tennis, and women’s volleyball. He completed his doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) at University of the Pacific, sports physical therapy residency at Gundersen Health Systems, and D1 sports physical therapy fellowship at Wake Forest University. He teaches at Tufts University’s Therapeutic Exercise course as an associate professor and is a guest lecturer for the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s DPT sports elective each year. Vien’s research interests include race, gender, and socioeconomic disparities in healthcare as well as cognitive function after ligament injuries. He has presented for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) at the state and national levels.
