Follow the steps below to update the firmware of a Freelap FxChip BLE.

  1. Install the Freelap Device Manager (FDM) on a mobile device.
  2. Turn ON a Tx Junior Pro transmitter (any mode Start, Lap, Finish will work).
  3. Place the FxChip BLE directly on top of the transmitter.
  4. Press the circle arrow on the FDM app to scan for the chip.
  5. When the FDM finds the chip, press STOP.
  6. Press the down arrow.
  7. Press INSTALL.
  8. The update will take about a minute.
  9. When the update is complete, remove the chip and repeat the process for the other chips.

. Here are the steps to replace the battery in a chip.

      – Remove the black clip.
      – Remove three screws all the way.
      – Remove the fourth screw half way.
      – Remove the back by pulling on the fourth screw.
      – Remove the PC board from the case.
      – Slide the battery out of the battery holder.
      – Insert a new CR2032 lithium battery.
      – Insert the PC board into the case and align the three holes in the PC board with the three pegs in the case.
      – Check the O-ring for proper alignment.
      – Replace the back into the case.
      – Insert the four screws.
      – Insert the black clip.
      – Dispose of the old batteries at a battery recycling center or battery drop-off.

just checking some chips seem to be slower time than others. Same athlete can where different chips and times are way off on certain chips. Is this a battery issue?

    Hi Christopher,

there is no data from the BLE chip to the mobile phone, is it possible that the battery is too low?

    Thank you
    Ludwig from Germany

Hi! I been having my Freelap for the last 8 months. For some reason today, the chip wasn’t lighting up. I tried replacing the battery but nothing seems to work. The chip doesn’t light up when placed next to the cones. Please help me with this
