About Pedro Alcaraz
Pedro E. Alcaraz is a European Ph.D. in Sport Sciences. He was appointed Master in High Performance Sport by the Spanish Olympic Committee, is a Professor of Methodology and Periodization of Training, Faculty of Sports, and is head of UCAM Research Center for High Performance Sports. Dr. Alcaraz serves as Director of the Biomechanics Lab, Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, Spain (2010 – Present); Head of OP_EN_RED Research Group, Section of Sport Sciences; Deputy Head of Masters in High Performance Sport: Strength & Conditioning (Spanish & English version), and Master in Strength & Conditioning and Rehabilitation in Soccer; and Director of UCAM Spanish Sports University, Universidad Católica de Murcia, UCAM.
Dr. Alcaraz has authored more than 100 research documents related to sports performance and training. He served as president of the Strength & Conditioning Society and is a member of the International Society of Biomechanics of Sport and the European College of Sports Sciences. He has been a guest researcher at the Human Performance Research Center at Brunel University (London, UK), at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Oporto (Portugal), and at the Center for Exercise and Sports Science Research, Edith Cowan University, Perth (Australia).
Additionally, he was a Strength Specialist Advisor to the National Olympic Canoeing Team (2006-2008), winner of medals in the 2007 European Championships, Gold in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and Gold in the 2009 World Cup. Dr. Alcaraz was the physical trainer of the Koryo Taekwondo Team during the 2007-2008 season, in which its members won more than 10 medals in the National and European Championships. Member of several research projects in which the National Water Polo and Women's Handball teams were advised (medalists at the London Olympic Games).

Ex-strength and conditioning coach of Gisela Pulido (10 times World Champion in Kitesurf). Expert reviewer for the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR). Expert reviewer for the Spanish Ministry of Sciences, Innovation and Universities (AEI). Invited expert for the Colombia government (Coldeportes) for the development of the research lines in biomechanics.
