Joel Smith is an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of California, Berkeley, where he works with swimming, tennis, and water polo. He is the founder of Just Fly Sports, an informational site for speed- and power-based athletic development and is also the host of the Just Fly Performance Podcast. Joel is the author of Vertical Foundations, Vertical Ignition, and most recently, Speed Strength. He has over a decade of coaching experience in the realms of track and field and sports performance. His coaching has led him to directly work with world-record holders in swimming and master’s track, along with numerous Olympic medalists.
