About Jacob Cohen

Jacob Cohen is in his fourth season as the Assistant Coach of men’s and women’s track & field at the University of Illinois, now working with the sprints, hurdles, relays, and horizontal jumps athletes. In this role, he helped guide Jonathan Wells to All-America honors in 2018. Cohen previously worked as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech, specializing in jumps, and helped guide athletes to two Honorable Mention All-America honors, three conference individual crowns, 14 All-Conference USA accolades, and 12 qualifying entries to NCAA Prelims. He has also coached at Lamar University and the University of Miami.

Cohen has certifications as a USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy Sprints and Jumps Specialist, a USATF Level II in the jumps, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human services, education, and public policy from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Miami (Florida).
